"Over Reef" Catamaran

Over Reef is made in Italy and it has been designed for the most comfortable and private fishing and scuba diving in the archipelago, with a large dedicated aft platform and a fast motorized tender. It is the first floating villa built on a catamaran sea-kindly hull to operate in the Maldives islands. The yacht is able to cruise in all conditions, offers all the comforts of modern homes, and is full of innovative solutions, such as the electrical sun-visor, a unique feature offering extensive amount of light and fresh breezy balcony to the bow cabins.

Accommodation

Over Reef is designed to accommodate on board even those who are not used to sailing holidays. In fact, the volume, comfort, large living spaces, headroom, one-level floor, home appliances, and one of a kind flybridge space make it a comfortable villa at sea.

The yacht counts 3 guests cabins. Master and VIP cabins are at the bow, and both have glass door to the forward deck. Master cabin has private bathroom, while VIP cabin has shared toilet with the third guests cabin. The latter is equipped with a large single bed and a pullman bed.

4-Day Ari Atoll Cruise

This cruise explores one of the most famous atolls of the Maldives, Ari or Alifu atoll, with its several places of interests. Many desert islands are suitable for a good swim and some excellent snorkeling. These include: Meerufenfushi and Madivaru finolhu.

Ari Atoll is also a diver’s paradise. The best diving sites include: Malhoos Thila, with its underwater rocks completely covered by yellow and blue soft corals and sea fans; the marine reserves of Madivaru Kandu (Rasdhoo) where hammerhead sharks can be seen, the manta point of Dhonkalo and the shark point of Mushimasmigili.

Crew

ADAM ZAREER
Adam is the captain of Over Reef. He is Maldivian live-a-boards’ captain since 2004. He knows in detail every corner of the archipelago and the best sites for fishing.

AHMED NASRU
Ahmed is the guide and divemaster of the yacht. He has matured 10-years experience in the operations of Maldivian live-a-boards, and he is a real expert of the best locations for scuba diving.

ANURA KUMARANAYAKE
Anura is the Srilankan chef of the yacht. In Maldives since 2008, he is one of the best cooks aboard Maldivian yachts.

Tour author

Max Molteni, cruise planner and yacht skipper with an intimate knowledge of the Maldives and of their underwater beauties, first discovers the Maldivian archipelago at the age of 21 while on holiday with his father. In 1992 he starts working on the island of Boduhithi as a diving instructor and in 1994 he boards the motor yacht Fathuhul Bari, taking charge for two years. With the Fathuhul Bari he begins to discover the archipelago, above and below the surface of the sea. 1998 is the start of his career as resort manager, which is to continue until the end of 2004.

In January 2005 he moves to Malé, where he starts building Dhoni Stella. Max is also the author of the Maldives Cruising Guide, published in 2008. With his extensive experience working in the region, the book is the most comprehensive navigation guide to the low-lying, tropical island chain.

 

Max's Sri Lankan travels began in 2007 and since then he has traveled extensively throughout the country. During these years, Max has visited and hand-picked the best villas and boutique hotels on the island as well as excellent tour drivers. With these resources he has created exclusive, individual tours to combine the beauty of Sri Lanka's green landscapes with the amazing turquoise-blue waters of the Maldives.

Booking terms and conditions

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT

Check in and Check out time are flexible and, when possible, will be arranged as per the request of the guests. Advanced requests for early Check in and late Check should be reconfirmed prior to arrival. Charges may be applied in some periods of the year. Late check outs while on board are subject to availability on the evening prior to departure.

PAYMENT TERMS

All the invoices should be settled as per the following payment terms (unless specified otherwise in the invoice): 30% of the invoice is due within 7 days of the booking; the remainder is due 60 days before the holiday starts. Once the remittance is made, please send us a copy of the same along with payment details. If there is any discrepancy on our invoice, it should be brought forward to our notice within 3 days of receipt. No reduction on our invoices is allowed at any circumstance without prior authorization or credit note.

CANCELLATION, NO SHOW AND EARLY DEPARTURE

Deposit refund (unless specified otherwise in the invoice) in case of cancellation received 90 or more days before arrival. No refund is offered for cancellations at a later date, no shows, or for early departures.

HEALTH EMERGENCY CLAUSE

If, prior to the commencement of the charter period, We or the Charterer would be unable to deliver and\or take delivery of the yacht due to the outbreak and\or the persistence of health emergency's restrictions in the Maldives and/or in the Charterer’s country of origin, the parties hereby agree to suspend and reschedule the charter once the health emergency shall be lifted or in any case for a maximum period of 24 (twenty-four) months. The amounts paid by the Charterer prior to the suspension will be withheld by us as partial or total payment of the price of the postponed charter. It is agreed that, once the health emergency shall cease the postponed charter shall be regulated by the other terms and conditions.

PASSPORT AND VISA

You must ensure that your passport and travel documentation is in order and that you have obtained the necessary visa and all other requirements for your Travel Arrangements. Should you require assistance on this matter, we will be pleased to make recommendations. We will not be held responsible for you travelling without the correct travel documents.

WE HAVE NOT BEEN ON A YACHT - IS A YACHT TOUR RIGHT FOR US?
In our company we adhere to the principle that yachting, like the sea, is open to absolutely everyone. Modern yachts make holidays safe and comfortable for people with a wide variety of requirements. A yacht today is spaciousness, hotel-like convenience and complete freedom of movement!
WHAT IS AND IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR?
It depends on the specific tour. Our yacht tours always include a team and a personally verified route. Additional services such as food, transfer and water toys may already be included in the price, or may be provided for a fee. This information is always available on the tour page under 'Prices'.
IS YACHTING ONLY FOR THE ELITE?
No and no again! The cost of a yacht tour starts from 7000-8000 euros per week for 6 people, which means that the price for one person is 160 euros. Most importantly, do not forget that a yacht is a floating villa, and you save on car rental, getting the opportunity to comfortably explore many interesting places.

WILL WE GET BORED ON THE YACHT?

ON BOARD

PREVENTION OF COVID-19
All yachts must undergo sanitary epidemiological treatment after each sailing. The protst authorities are monitoring this, so this is done even better than in hotels. A side effect of this is the exceptional cleanliness and order in which you receive the yacht.
HOW IS FOOD ORGANIZED?
The main thing in eating on a yacht is that you will have a personal chef, and often also a steward or stewardess, who will delight you with local cuisine throughout your vacation. The menu can be agreed in advance.
IS THE ROUTE FIXED?
There are no clear boundaries in the sea, and you can always change the route at your request or on the recommendation of the captain. Also, do not forget that the route at sea always depends on weather conditions, and in case of bad weather in one place, the captain offers alternative options.
CAN EXCURSIONS BE ORGANIZED?
Yes, there is such an opportunity. This can be done in advance through our company or by negotiating with the captain on the spot.
YACHT SAFETY
According to statistics, a yacht is the safest means of transportation, and if you add to this a professional skipper who is personally responsible for the safety of guests, you definitely have nothing to worry about. The yacht is always equipped with life jackets, and if you wish, you can install protective nets, which can be important for families with children and pets.
WI-FI AND CHARGING GADGETS
Our yachts are equipped with wi-fi routers and sockets for recharging electrical devices.
HOW IS THE CLEANING ORGANIZED?
Cleaning takes place imperceptibly for you - and this is perhaps what you need to know about it. Dish washing, cleaning of common areas is carried out by the staff. In some cases, the cleaning of the cabins is left to the guests. On some tours, daily bed linen change is included. And in any case, it can be arranged upon request.
WILL IT BE HOT ON THE YACHT?
On a yacht it is necessary to distinguish between two times of day - day and night, which differ more than on land. The day is always cool thanks to the open space. The night is very different from the season and the region. During the hottest months, when the water is hot, it is best to sleep in cabins with air conditioning or a fan, but as soon as the heat recedes or a cool breeze begins to blow, the night time on the yacht becomes unusually pleasant.
HOW IS THE YACHT CHECK-IN ORGANIZED?
Checking in on a yacht is no different from checking into a hotel. You will be provided with a voucher with a map of the host's location in the port and all contact information, and your personal manager will always be in touch to resolve unforeseen issues. Check-in times vary from specific tour, but usually it is from noon to 15-00. If you arrive early, you will be provided with space for your luggage while waiting, and if it is late, you will be checked in on board, and the paperwork will take place the next day.
WHAT TEAM WILL I HAVE AND WHERE IS IT LOCATED?
A standard tour involves a team of captain and hostess who is responsible for yacht catering and cleaning. However, we have many tours of an increased level of comfort, where the team includes several people, each of whom is responsible for his own business - cooking, serving meals, cleaning, helping the captain, etc. The crew never lives in the same space with the guests - there are separate cabins for them in the bow of the yacht or in other special compartments. No less important task than serving guests is the task of preserving the privacy and boundaries of the personal space of each of the passengers.

HOW TO CHOOSE AND BOOK?

CAN I CHANGE THE NUMBER OF DAYS ON THE TOUR?
In most cases - yes, and moreover, we can develop a unique route of any duration for you. The exception is event tours for specific dates and tours, the duration of which can only be a multiple of a week (7 nights, 14 nights, etc.)
WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED FOR BOOKING?
At the initial stage, we only need a foreign passport of one of the participants in the trip, and no later than 1 week before the trip, guests fill out their passport data to send it to the captain of the yacht.
HOW DO YOU PAY?
Payment is made on the basis of an agreement with a company in Croatia for an account in euros or a bank card on the website.
WHAT DOCUMENTS WILL I RECEIVE AFTER PAYMENT?
You will receive a voucher with all contact information.
WILL I HAVE A PERSONAL MANAGER?
Yes, we attach a qualified specialist to each client who will answer all your questions. And for those clients who are at sea - there is a round-the-clock support.
WHAT ARE THE CANCELLATION CONDITIONS?
Cancellation policy is subject to concert tour and booking dates. Standard conditions: In most cases, the payment for the tour is divided into two parts, 50% when booking and 50% one month before the start of the cruise. Payments of 30-70% or other ratios by agreement are also possible. Some tours require a deposit or APA. The deposit is a security deposit that is payable immediately prior to boarding. It will cover any accidental damage caused by any of the crew. The deposit is returned at the end of the trip, immediately after the inspection of the yacht. APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is a form of deposit to cover additional costs. It is 20-30% of the tour cost and is paid together with the second payment. This amount is transferred to the captain and is used for organizing meals during the cruise, paying for fuel, parking, excursions and other expenses. The captain will keep records and will inform if it becomes necessary to increase the APA. At the end of the cruise, an expense report is provided and the remainder is refunded, if available. Depending on the region in which the tour is organized, the VAT tax must be added. It may not exist outside the EU, but it exists within it and depends on the conditions of a particular country. Also in our company there is a personal attitude to booking cancellations - we go to a meeting as much as possible, make date changes or find a replacement booking for other guests.
WHAT IS A DEPOSIT?
The deposit is a deposit that is paid upon check-in to the owner of the yacht in case of damage inside the yacht caused by guests during the rest. The deposit is not required for all tours, its availability is always indicated in the 'Booking Conditions' section on the specific tour page.

We had a wonderful two weeks at Over Reef! The yacht was built in 2019 and is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable journey through the countless atolls of the Maldives. Basically it is a small villa on the water, with air conditioning, large TV, cozy cabins and comfortable sun decks. But on the other hand, you can wake up every day in a new place, swim on a new beach and see the Maldives in a way that is impossible to do in any of the most luxurious hotels. Everything was perfect for our family! Waking up and jumping into the clear ocean, and then having breakfast on the upper deck with freshly baked banana pancakes is priceless! Every day a new snorkeling reef, flocks of dolphins and swimming with manta rays! Romantic barbecues on desert islands! The endless, fantastic, magnificent Indian Ocean at your feet 24 hours! Unforgettable sunrises and especially sunsets! We love fishing and on this trip we could enjoy our favorite hobby endlessly! And what sashimi the cook made from freshly caught fish !!! In general, separate words of gratitude must be said to the crew. After all, it was they who made our vacation truly unforgettable! Captain Edam is a true Master of his craft and also knows the best places for recreation and fishing, chef Kumar never ceased to amaze us with new delicious dishes every day. And what kind of pastries he makes !!! It looks like you need to forget about losing weight on vacation. Steward Soleiman is always ready to fulfill your every request, and our youngest son really made friends with him. Assistant Niyaz did everything he could to make our trip as comfortable as possible. We are very happy that we were able to escape to the Maldives after long months of quarantine and spent our vacation aboard the Over Reef.

We are wrapping up our charter this morning and we had an incredible time. Over Reef was absolutely perfect for our family, and it didn’t feel like a maiden cruise (though I know the crew worked very hard to address the small issues that always come up with a new boat). In particular, I want to highlight how great all of the crew was. They really went out of their way to make it a great experience for us, and particularly Nasru and Adam, who were always highly knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to be around. The food was also surprisingly good.
