Palionisos beach is a small and pebbly beach hidden deep inside a sheltered cove on the north side of Kalymnos, not far from the village of Emporio. It lies in a long, very beautiful fjord-like bay just below a village topped by a small church that offers a view of the island of Leros to the north. The seawater here is fantastic: emerald green and usually very calm, even on a windy day. You won't find much in the way of sunbeds or umbrellas, but just up the path in the adjacent village there's adequate food and drink when you need it.
