Stari Grad
Stari Grad is located in one of the northwestern bays of the island of Hvar. Numerous medieval monuments have been preserved here: the Dominican Monastery, the basilica with a baptistery dedicated to St. Mary and St. John, the Monastery of St. Peter. The palace-fortress of Tvrdal is especially amazing with a swimming pool in the inner yard, paintings on the walls, and high towers. The marina in Stari Grad is small – only 40 places – but it is wonderfully protected from winds by the natural landscape.
